Panorama Festival 2025 and Plastic Free

An environmental commitment that continues

Also this year, Panorama Festival renews its collaboration with Plastic Free for a concrete action in favour of the territory.
Plastic Free is an independent, non-profit, voluntary organisation engaged in projects to protect the planet from plastic pollution. Some of the most common projects include environmental clean-ups, but also appointments in schools, rescuing sea turtles, battles against balloon flying or cigarette butt abandonment, and promoting eco-sustainable events.

A Commitment that Continues

In 2024, our collaboration with the association began. Together we cleaned up the beautiful location of Porto Miggiano (Santa Cesarea Terme - LE), collecting a total of 21 bags of waste and raising awareness in the community about the importance of reducing the use of plastic.

For the 2025 edition, we chose 26 April, National Plastic Free Day, to carry out a further clean-up in an area of great natural value, namely the protected area of the Cesine, which had been devastated by plastic waste abandoned by patrons or carried by the sea. On this occasion, 56 volunteers managed to collect over 50 bags of rubbish defacing this beautiful nature reserve.

Participating in these initiatives means asserting at the top of one's lungs one's desire to fight against the uncontrolled defacement that mankind causes with rubbish and plastics. Every year, between 100,500,000 tonnes of plastic end up in the Mediterranean, with the 50% from coastal communities, 30% transported by rivers and 20% dispersed along shipping lanes. The consequences on the marine ecosystem, but also on land, are devastating. This is why Panorama espouses initiatives such as this one, in order to contribute to the preservation of the ecosystem in which the festival takes place and to raise community awareness of more sustainable and responsible consumption.

And to further strengthen the collaboration and spread the Plastic Free project as much as possible, this year you will be able to meet some of the volunteers and contact persons right at the Festival in a special dedicated Pop-Up. In this space you can find out about the initiatives and, why not, become part of the association and those who support it.
