Marco Carola (born 7 February 1975 in Naples) is one of the pillars of the global techno and tech-house scene. He started playing vinyl when he was only 15 years old, turning an adolescent passion into a long-lasting and influential career. Founder of iconic labels such as Design Music (1996), Zenit, Question, One Thousands and Music On (2011), he defined the Italian minimal-techno sound and internationalised his project in prestigious clubs such as Amnesia and Pacha in Ibiza. Famous for his epic sets - including a memorable 24-hour live set at Sunwaves Festival in 2015 - Carola is also the author of cult compilations (Fabric 31, Time Warp Compilation 09) and albums such as Play It Loud! (2011). Gifted with a powerful, hypnotic and technically refined style (he often plays on three decks), he continues to embody the role of global ambassador of techno, collaborating with legends such as Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin and Adam Beyer, and confirming himself as one of the most loved and respected DJs internationally.
